Before posting, please include:

  • The API surface involved: Desktop API, PDM API, Document Manager, Web API, add-in, task add-in, or VBA macro.
  • Your language and runtime, such as VBA, C#, .NET Framework, .NET 8, or another version.
  • A minimal code sample or REST request that shows the problem.
  • The exact error, HRESULT, crash details, API return value, or unexpected behavior.
  • What you already tried, including whether the same action works in the SOLIDWORKS or PDM user interface.

Good titles help future visitors too. Prefer titles like:

  • How do I update PDM data card variables with the Web API?
  • Task pane icon transparency fails for BMP resources

Avoid titles like:

  • Need help
  • Macro problem
  • Urgent error
